I've just installed Trellis 2011, but cannot connect to the database.
When it starts up and I click [Create] to create the database, I then get the following message:
"The database could not be created.
This is because a connection could not be made to the SQL Server.
Check that the Server name is correct and that the SQL Server Service is running"
- Cause:
This happens because Trellis 2011 cannot find the SQL Server with the name as provided in the text box. When
the named service cannot be found, this alert is shown.
- Resolution:
It is possible that you do not have SQL Server installed on your PC or network or that the SQL Server name
has been entered incorrectly. Check this with your IT personnel to verify this and obtain the correct name.
I'm having problems with my e-mail settings. When I click the [Send test e-mail] button I get the
following message:
"Could not connect to your mail server.
Check that your name and password have been entered correctly"
- Resolution:
If you are in a Microsoft Exchange environment, speak to your IT personnel about your SMTP settings.
Otherwise, look up your account settings in Outlook by selecting Tools -> Account Settings. This
information will provide Trellis 2011 with all the information it needs to send e-mail.
