You will use form benchmarks to set performance indicators for your training courses.  Benchmarks are always tied to a specific form so in setting benchmarks you are setting expected target scores for questions in a form.

The question types you can set benchmarks for are as follows:

 Multiple Choice - Single Response

 Rating Scale - Single Question

 Rating Scale - Question Block

You cannot set benchmarks for the following question types:

 Multiple Choice - Multiple Response

 Commentary

Creating Benchmarks

You can add or change the benchmarks set for a form by opening up the benchmarks window and making changes.  The Benchmarks window will only show question types that are benchmarkable.

To set a benchmark for the form:

From the form designer menu, select form -> Benchmarks

or

From the toolbar click on the Benchmarks icon on the toolbar .

or

Where you are in an Evaluation Project, from the forms tab select Benchmarks

The following window will then be shown:

Right at the top left of the window is the aggregate score for the form and this is what will be used to determine the performance of the training when actual responses are reported.

The number by each response option represents the score for that response.  You cannot choose a benchmark higher than the highest number shown against each question.

As you enter your benchmark scores, you can calculate the scores to get a total for the form at any time.  To do this:

From the menu bar, select Benchmark -> Calculate

or

From the toolbar, click on the calculate icon .

Once you have entered all the scores against the questions you are interested in measuring, you can save your work and close the window.  To save:

From the menubar, select Benchmarks ->Save

or

From the toolbar, click on the save icon in the tool bar .

Click the Close button to return to your form or the evaluation project window.

Modifying Benchmarks

You can edit or delete your Benchmarks at any time. However if the form is part of a project with responses, the form will be locked and will therefore not permit any changes without first unlocking it.  See here for more information on Locking and Unlocking forms

To modify benchmarks just overwrite the new scores and to delete them replace any scores with zeros.  When you have completed your changes save your changes and your new benchmarks are put into effect.
