Working with Free Text

Free Text is narrative text that can be added to any part of the form usually as instructions.
Adding Free Text
Select Free Text from the form element drop down box. The form designer will then be configured as follows:

Enter your free text at the Enter Free Text prompt. You can use extra spacing to separate free text from form elements above and below it.
By default form elements are added to bottom of the form. However if you want to place the an element directly into position you can use Relative Positioning. See Working with Relative Positioning for more information.
Even if you choose to work with the default, you can move the element into place by using the Move up or Move down options. First select the item you want to move and then:
From the menu select Modify Layout -> Move Up/Move Down
or
Right Click and then select Move Up/Move Down
or
From the menu select the relevant icon
or
With all your selections complete, click on the Add to form button and your text is added to the form.
Editing Free Text
To edit Free text, first select it in the layout panel then:
From the menu select Modify Layout -> Edit
or
Right click and select edit from the shortcut menu
or
Select the edit icon from the toolbar
This window will open with the text of the question presented for edit:

Make any changes as required. Once you are satisfied with your changes, click OK. Your form will be updated to reflect your changes. You will also see the changes reflected on the layout panel.
Deleting Free Text
If you decide to remove free text from your form, you can delete it by first selecting it and then:
From the menu select Modify Layout -> Delete
or
Right click and then select Delete
or
Click on the delete icon in the toolbar ![]()
You will prompted to confirm your action. Once you confirm that you indeed want to delete the question, it will be deleted. You will be unable to undo the delete action once it has been performed.
