Trellis 2011 connects to a central database based on the settings you enter in the Manage Database window.  To access this window, from the application menu select Tools -> Manage Database. You will then see the following window:

 

 

 

 

In addition to allowing you to connect to the database, this window allows you to create new Trellis databases as well as:

 

 Backup the Trellis Database

 Restore the Trellis Database

 

Creating a database

 

To create a database, enter the name of the SQL Server and database instance at the Enter the SQL Server Name prompt using the format [server name]\[database instance name].

 

Against the Enter the Database Name prompt enter the name you want to use for the database. When you have done this, be sure to select Create a New Trellis Database and Connect to it. Once you have completed this, click on OK.

 

The database will be created and once it has been created you will be prompted to set up users. The database is the ready to use. See Create the Trellis 2011 Database for more information.
