Locking and Unlocking forms

This topic only applies to project forms.  That is forms that are part of an evaluation project.

Before you can enter feedback or run any of the reports, the form needs to be locked.  This is because any changes to the form after you have started entering feedback could create inconsistencies in the way the data is analysed and reported.

To lock or unlock the form look out for either of these icons in the toolbar.

Were the form has already been locked you will see a locked padlock as follows:

and where it is unlocked, it will be an unlocked padlock like this

This is a toggle icon so you will either see one or the other.  You can also choose form from the menu and then see the setting by either of these icons indicating locked or unlocked.

To lock or unlock the form, click on the relevant icon which will open up the following window.

On this window you can only change the Status from locked to unlocked and then back again. The Type and Issue Date sections are for use when called directly from the project window.

The above status will show where the status form is originally unlocked as evidenced by the open padlock. To lock it click on the Locked checkbox. Once you click on the Save button the form will be locked until you explicitly unlock it.

This is what the window will look like when it is already locked:

When you attempt to unlock a locked form, you will be prompted to confirm the unlock action. Once you confirm the unlock, click on the Save button to save the change.  The window will then close down.
