Installing Trellis 2011 doesn't take long. The process mostly consists of running through a simple wizard driven interface.   The installer Trellis2011v3.0Setup.exe will install Trellis 2011 and optionally install the database software, SQL Server 2008 Release 2 express edition, on your PC.

 

You can choose to install the database software on your local PC or on a central server or else use your own in house version of SQL Server. See system requirements for the versions of SQL Server you can use with Trellis.

 

 

Double click the installer file to start the process.

 

 

Click on the next button and once you've confirmed your agreement to the software licence, and that will see this screen.

 

 

 

 

Make your selection here depending on where you want to run the Trellis database.

 

If you are running it all on your PC, and you don't have a version of SQL Server that you can use already installed, then keep both options checked. If you don't need the database, you can uncheck the SQL Server Database Engine option.

 

At the next screen you'll need to either accept the installation path or change it. We recommend you keep the default path.

 

Once you have made this selection, will be prompted for who should be able to use Trellis when it is installed. Once you've made this selection, the installation will start.

 

This could take several minutes depending on your PC specifications and whether your are installing the SQL Server database or not.

 

Once installation is complete you will see this window with the option to start Trellis 2011 ticked.

 

 

Leave Run Marblewire Trellis 2011 ticked and click Finish.

 

Trellis 2011 will then start up.  Alternatively you can go to the Windows Start menu and select Programs > Marblewire Trellis 2011 > Marblewire Trellis 2011 or click on the icon that would have been added to your desktop.

 

You will now need to configure the database that Trellis will use to save your training evaluation data.
